And before Republicans get their happy faces on, the meaning of conservative in the UK isn't the same as conservative in the US. If it means anything, it means preferring to do things as they have been done, addressing new ideas cautiously and where there's a clear need. It's not a simplistic small state ideology, or a christian, anti-science tribal unit; although it would be sceptical of increasing taxation, just as it would be unlikely to adopt a new health system.
The other thing that makes me happy is that the anti-semitic Labour party was crushed. Never thought I would see a party in the UK take that position, in order to finagle Moslem votes.
