The other thing that makes me happy is that the anti-semitic Labour party was crushed. Never thought I would see a party in the UK take that position, in order to finagle Moslem votes.

It's a fascinating result. Remain is finally dead, which for me was the animating issue, as Brexit won the referendum, and I thought the Remainers conduct in refusing to accept the result was disgraceful. And for the first time in my life (or possibly ever), the North of England voted Conservative. Whereas Scotland has moved towards Scottish Nationalism.

Not especially enamoured of Boris. He is a famous marriage cheat. But I think he has manouevered the Tories slightly leftward to a position on the political spectrum that is close to the place the Dems are, but without the identity politics, and that is an improvement. Issues like climate change are real for him and I expect he will push hard for the UK to use alternative energy, and particularly wind power.

He was also far better than the alternatives. The leader of Labour, Corbyn, is a Marxist. The now ex-leader of the Liberals, Swinson, is a Remainer.
