EXCLUSIVE: Pentagon watchdog plans to review award of $400M border wall contract to firm pushed by Trump
On a visit to the border early this year, President Donald Trump said he wanted his border wall to be two things — cheap and good-looking, according to two U.S. officials. And he frequently touted Fisher Sand & Gravel as the company to make that happen, even against the guidance of advisers who told him he could not "pick a winner."
The Defense Department's internal watchdog now plans to review the Army Corps of Engineers decision to award a $400 million contract to Fisher, which has been publicly and privately endorsed by members of the Trump administration.
