Jeff Toobin

“Let’s be clear about what happened today,” said Toobin. “For years and years, Donald Trump has said that the FBI and the deep state was involved in an illegal conspiracy to bring down his campaign, that they relied on the Steele Dossier to investigate and launch this investigation.

“And now, after years of investigation, the inspector general said ‘not true, didn’t happen, there was nothing wrong with the origin of this investigation,’” he added. “So this conspiracy theory that the President of the United States has been pushing for years was a total lie.”

Thing is, folks who spin fake conspiracy theories about things like the murder of Seth Rich and Uranium One need to admit their mistakes and explain why they made them. Certainly, they also need to avoid suggesting new ones, unless they have a long list of facts to support them. And not facts from dodgy articles on conspiracy websites. But facts they themselves spend time writing down and explaining. Because at this point, those of us who are sceptical and who have said so over and again aren't interested in new wacky theories from the GOP tailpipe.
