Indeed, they are motivated to try to get other people to believe the con. It makes them feel better that others believe. That somehow, others falling into the same trap makes the trap less real.

But the truth remains the same. The conman is the liar. There' no pot of gold. There's a trap and the GOP rubes have fallen into it.

But it works on Republicans, clo. They are satisfied with false equivalence.

Saves on actually considering the truth that their guy is a crook and that whether Obama is or not is neither here nor there in judging Trump's culpability.

He's a crook and a conman and an extortionist and a briber. The reason conmen succeed is that their victims are desperate to believe their stories. They so want the pot of gold. But rainbows are just made of light particles that have been refracted through water droplets.
