The thing that gives me solace, 3 MILLION more Americans voted for Hillary.

And Russia interfered with the election, god only knows how many more she would've gotten.

And the Supreme's gave the election to GWB.
That was probably the worst, if Gore had been potus, we would've never attacked Iraq, and that part of the world would have not been turned upside down.

That said, I will never understand why people vote against their own interests.

Most people suffering from lack of medical care are in red states. Farmers are suffering because of Trump's tariffs. Many have lost their farms & suicide rates are high.

He has harmed the environment with his policies, no regard for clean water, or air.

He has given tax cuts for the wealthy, relaxed restrictions on businesses.

He has bullied the Fed to cut rates, putting our economy at risk & punishing folks who 'save'.

He has nearly made enemies out of our allies, while cuddling up to strongmen, Russia, Turkey, North Korea, etc...

But the curious thing is, he's rude as hell to many of America's allies, as well as destructive of their relationships with the US (eg imposing tariffs). Americans cannot be surprised foreigners find him ridiculous and US politics toxic.

Along with Dubya, the world is crying out for the US to fix itself. It isn't just that Republicans are bad. It's that America produces Republicans and lets them get control. There's a huge issue that doesn't get addressed.

I suspect it doesn't get addressed because the US is unwilling to look hard for its own blemishes in the mirror. Too much of US identity is tethered to the conceit that it is a beacon for the whole world. At the moment it is in some ways more like a cancer (eg global warming, international trade, support of dictators).
