We had a lovely Thanksgiving.

My daughter is still recovering so she didn't come.
My oldest is in Virginia.

My youngest asked if he could bring a guest, I asked who?
His dad. ;))
I said sure, we've been divorced since 1980 & his wife died a few years ago. I liked her. He's 11 years older than me & she was a little older than him.
We've been friends & put the past behind us long ago.

Tori, my granddaughter, also shared the day with us.
We watched the dog show.
We had such a nice time, Bob wondered if I had any pictures from the past. Jason pulled some albums out & Tori got such a kick out of seeing them. She took pictures of the pictures with her cellphone ;)

Dinner was delicious & I sent them home with leftovers to enjoy today.
Jason said when he drove Bob home, he said it was the nicest Thanksgiving he can remember.

We went to Mass this morning but when we got there the power was out and only the battery-powered emergency lighting was on. However, being a church, we had candles. They brought out the old High-Mass candelabras, so we had 18 candles on or near the alter. However, about 7 minutes into Mass, the lights came back on. It was a good crowd, maybe 700 people, which wasn’t bad considering that it was pouring rain. We’ve gotten over an inch of rain in the last 24 hours, which for SoCal is a lot, that’d be like 11 inches of snow back East, but of course, it runs off, which is a problem in and of itself what with so many hillsides denuded by the fires, but not near us.

Anyway, we hope all of you are having a happy Thanksgiving. Our big dinner will be on Saturday at our son's house up in LA as he and his wife are working today (they're both executive chefs). On Saturday we'll have a big dinner that will be a combination traditional American and Mexican dinner (our daughter-in-law is from Mexico), so beside the turkey and stuffing, we'll also have beans & rice, tamales, flan, etc. It's always a great meal. Two of our sons will be there, #2 and #3, as well as one granddaughter, #5.
