What I like best about Austin, besides the entertainment that the local bats provide, is that it DOESN'T feel like you're in Texas.

Apple has been ASSEMBLING the Mac Pro there for some years, and now the new model of it. Most parts for it are imported from overseas, and it is a contractor that does all that as the article states, not Apple employees. Apple will never get in the business of manufacturing A D/or assembling anything itself. It has others doing that for them. Apple designs and others make and assemble their stuff where it makes sense. The Mac Pro is a super expensive powerful machine they could assemble anywhere, not a consumer device, more of a pro computer for high end workloads.

Tim Apple did not say anything about it, because he did not want to insult the baboon right then and there. He let him have his moment.

But, as for the new facility they are starting to build in Austin, it will expand on their support center they’ve had in Austin for many years, including a main service center in the area. Apple has been in Austin for decades.
