I have never understood indivisibility.
Seems like a peaceful solution, or an option for a solution, to problems which otherwise lead to civil wars.
In the last five years, Scotland had a vote about seceding from the UK. The idea that Scotland should be unable to leave the UK if it wished to seemed wrong to me then. So I was for the vote, but I hoped they wouldn't leave. And that is what happened.
Maybe different parts of the US would like to have the same freedom to choose their own futures. Having the choice in itself dulls the desire to secede. But being forced to stay in a toxic union is a dreadful place to find yourself.
Couldn't imagine remaining part of a country run by a villain like Trump. I'd be desperate to escape into a new sovereign territory.
