Maybe I just don't consume the right sources of information, but I don't really see Russian influence on the UK election - at least on the conversation about policies. I do see endless EU interference, and conspiracies with them led by Tony Blair and John Major, two former Remainer PMs. Their main theme is to cast doubt on the Brexit campaign and its supporters.
Perhaps Remainers are just shocked that they have so little support in the country. And so they think it can only be explained by Russia.
But folks saw every day for three years how nasty the EU was in negotiating a deal with an exiting UK. There was a path in which both sides might win but they scotched that. And as a result, folks are lining up behind the parties that wish to implement Brexit. That's what the polls say.
Rather a strange coincidence that this report arrives for publication right in the middle of an election. An event that lasts for a month in total. I am reminded of the advice the FBI was meant to have followed just ahead of the US election. Don't publish in the immediate run-up. Of course, Comey did publish information about HRC but not about Trump. And the rest is history.
I think it was the right decision to leave it for after the election.
