Most of these ate boring shithole states, nothing going on ever, other than weather extremes.
I was surprised about Virginia, although it also is a dull state, the rest pretty much fit the bill.
Utah although a beautiful, unique place, other that all the outdoorsy stuff and Park City, also is a dull cold/hot place.
NYC losing 300 people a day is understandable. It is a tough place to be, competitive, expensive, it sheds the weak and the meek. It also no longer has the culture of the 80s, too commercial. NY state too cold, cloudy, and gray too often, even in summer, lack of jobs the further you go north.
I was surprised not to see in that list Vermont and NH, boring, cold, gray places. There are many pretty places that otherwise don’t cut it. If you have no good job, and the weather beats you up, you ....leave. Them boonies can make you age 3x.
