I know, but only if we had Cellular service up there!

It's in a valley, sort of, up around 4,000 feet, 15 miles out of town, so in its time the landline was best...

SIL needed to cut expenses, my nephew is handling things as a little forgetfulness has been going for a while now..

So its really a good getaway from all the stuff, but its also on the edge of the Stanislaus National Forest, while all the Ponderosa Pines have been taken down on the cabin's lot, there are sill concerns about fires.

Been great for many years, brother & I built it, he did most of it, I'd come up weekends, dawn to dark workdays before we had power, sleeping bags on the bare floor, old camper for the kitchen.. As it finished up, dirt bikes, a '45 Jeep kept us busy... I left my Yamaha XT500 up there for years until one of the kids mentioned insurance, so I brought it home.. Bro was worried, no need to do that..

SIL leaves/passes, odds are it will be sold, kids can't afford it, I don't want it, it's a 4-5 hour drive on a good day for us. Fire insurance would be terrible, if even possible... Fun while it lasted...

If you have an iPhone, you can set it to be a 'hot-spot'. That's what I've done when we're stuck someplace without WiFi or a hard connection to the net.
