I fought IMAP for a time, had to readjust, make Rules to move keepers to a new, common folder in Outlook, non-Contacts get moved to the Deleted folder, all this on my Mac Pro.

On the iPhone, no Rules, see everything, let it slide until the next time I'm home..

I wanted to keep POP email as it worked like I had always used it, but, it's no longer supported in any of my accounts, so I had to adjust.. All pretty solid now, multiple accounts, all happy...

Work email, it stayed on work machines, separate worlds.. We used VPNs to tie into the inner workings of the Labs, took a multitude of PC laptops before we found a solid, capable one, but I gladly turned it over when I retired. Hate to think of the lost hours fighting the Win BS world, no more, all gone... I shredded a lot of stuff that first year out...

It depends on how you have your email accounts linked. When I was still working, I had both my work and home email accounts accessible on my iPhone. But because these email servers used different protocols, deleting an email on my phone would also delete that email on my work account, but if I deleted a personal email, it was still on my home account.
