Now the question is whether the Speaker (a different role entirely from the US), as an arch-Remainer, will allow a vote. His role is meant to be an impartial debate moderator. But he is a rank partisan.
Incredibly, he may not permit a vote.
Thus, the folks who pretended they simply opposed a no deal exit are now fighting the possibility of voting on a deal. This is a deal that the British people, the government and the EU appear to want (unlike Mrs May's).
But this parliament is determined to frustrate any kind of Brexit regardless of the referendum result. Not only won't they allow a vote. They won't permit an election either. They keep hoping they can force Boris to look like a hypocrite for their own electoral advantage. And he keeps evading their wishes.
Meanwhile they disgrace parliament.
It's not as bad a mess as the US. But it's still a mess.
