And of course, in the 2-1 ruling, the judge who voted against this, Judge Neomi Rao, was appointed by Donald Trump. It appears that her dissent was based on the outrageous argument that if there was any chance at all that one or more federal laws were broken, that this was something that could only be dealt with by the Justice Department. Basically, she argued that Congress cannot investigate a president who may be guilty of criminal behavior. Not exactly what I would call a ringing endorsement of the actions of the president.
