They are afraid of their constituents. But as the polls are showing, even Republican voters are turning towards impeachment. As the numbers continue to move, so will their willingness to behave properly.
It shouldn't be this way. But it is.
A lot depends upon Romney's vigour. Is he willing to keep pushing?
