For several days DT has repeatedly sidestepped the claim that he linked military aid to Ukraine to a request to its president to investigate Biden and his son. Then yesterday a large quantity of documentary evidence of communications among and between U.S. officials surfaced confirming the intent of the contacts with Ukraine - including several that made clear the writers knew what they were doing was illegal or at least improper, in at least one case refusing to be involved.
Then yesterday on the White House lawn in front of live cameras DT admitted he had asked the president of Ukraine to conduct an investigation of Biden and his son, then said he had asked China to do the same, notwithstanding the fact that there is not a shred of evidence that either Biden or his son were involved in any manner of illegal activity in either country.
In the history of the United States no President has ever asked a foreign government for assistance in any matter associated with a political campaign. DT's requests are clearly in violation of the U.S. Constitution and Federal law and, in this case, are prima facie evidence that he committed one or more impeachable offenses. It cannot be claimed that he didn't do it - he has admitted publicly that he did. It cannot be claimed what he did was acceptable or legal - it is not. It cannot be claimed (as he did) that as POTUS he may do anything he wishes - he can't. It cannot be claimed he misspoke, was joking, doesn't understand the law or is just learning his job - he didn't, he wasn't, he does, and he isn't.
What more will it take for DT supporters to acknowledge this man's "high crimes and misdemeanors" and abandon support for his presidency or his campaign for reelection?
