It's a one-of-a-kind case, so interesting for that reason. It feels like any judgement was doomed to feel unsatisfactory from one perspective. For instance, I can't see that there was mens rea (or criminal intent) there. At the same time, you can't easily leave a deliberate killing unpunished.
That response tangles things up even more. But you are right that it has made it moving. What an extraordinary person the brother is.
