Somehow I doubt that solar will ever replace coal and oil.
It just isn't 24 /seven reliable.

It will take solar panels becoming a lot more efficient
AND some means of storing surplus solar watts effectively
and cost competitively to do so.

Now we maybe can, and even should, be trying to replace
some of the peak demand watts with solar. Solar does
produce the most watts during the sunniest hottest part
of the day.

With that said, at least for the foreseeable future,
anybody who claims we can replace all our energy
needs with solar is a total idiot.

Re: "Here's something that the people who still think that coal and gas will never be replaced by solar power should read:"

First, I have to wonder about a person who says this on a board that he knows has banned most AtomicBobs users. If you want to get the word out, you need to post it someplace other than a dying forum.

Second, I've never heard anyone say solar will never be good, and I doubt you have either. Maybe the voices in your head say that, eh? LOL. Solar probably will replace coal and gas
one day. Not soon - the technology just isn't very good today. But one day. Maybe in thirty or forty years it will be good enough to significantly lower the world's coal and gas usage.
