We're also at virtually 100% LED's. The only exceptions are a single-tube florescent fixture over my work bench in the garage and a couple of CFL's, one in the attic, which is hardly ever used, and one in a closet off my den/office, again, I hardly ever turn it on, even when I'm getting something out of the closet since I don't need the extra light. I even managed to buy LED's lights that replaced the halogen lamps in those under-the-counter 'hockey-puck' lights. We've also replaced all of the exterior lights with LED's. And it has helped reduce our electric bill. Also, the flat-screen TV's, despite being much larger than our older conventional tube-type TV's, uses much less power. We also replaced our AC/furnace three years ago with a more modern unit (the old one was from when they built the house in 1979) and that was a big saving as well.

So taking the last three years, which includes the new AC and the LED's, we've averaged, for the billing period from mid-July to mid-August, 26.62 KWH/day. The average for the previous 24 years was 39.90 KWH/day. And to take the AC out of the picture, if I go back to say the March/April cycle, the numbers are 15.61 KWH/day versus 23.01 KWH/day.

We are 99% LEDs here, was working on my brother to get him going, but he left us last year, now the kids get to play with it, not my job. But our electric bill is lower than ever.. Still a few CFLs to swap out, as much heat as they make they have to be losers...

4' flour tubes, by using LEDs I only need half of 'em in my shop, garage...

RV/trailer uses tiny current for lighting now, could dry camp for weeks I think, water becomes the main issue..

dingbat administration is crazy...
