Regardless of the manouevers within parliament, it is worth remembering that Boris is trying to give final expression to the referendum. And that those who supported it and are denied its result are quietly simmering with rage at the parties frustrating its implementation.
They are the majority of the people, after all. And they are moving towards Boris precisely because he is trying to get us out of the EU.
So the theatre we see in parliament has an important element to it. Exposure. It is making it easier to see who is on which side. Already the hardcore remainers in the Conservative Party have been exposed and expelled. Boris will fight the election in alignment with the folks who won the refendum. Brexit party support is moving back to him. Let Labour and the Liberals split those who voted against it.
