"A YouGov survey conducted between August 27 and 28 asked 2,006 adults their Westminster voting intention. The results showed the Conservative Party came top with 34 percent, while the Labour Party trailed behind on 22 percent. The Lib Dems were third with 17 percent of the vote and the Brexit Party were next with 13 percent."

The British system favours relative strength, so it looks like the Conservatives would win an election easily.

So instead of all the piffle about proroguing parliament for a bit longer than normal this year being an assault on democracy, an election would express the people's will rather clearly.

I notice the Remainers aren't calling for an election. And I know why. Because they won't win it.

Their faux outrage conceals this important fact.
