I suppose people will think about Americans a bit like they think about Germans. With a bit of suspicion that the wolf may re-emerge from the country's psyche one day. But actually, these things tend to result in changes to a culture. So maybe Americans will rid themselves of the structures which permitted a person like Trump to lead the nation.
I hope, anyway.
For the rest of the world, it's also a warning that having an over-powerful country is a risk to everyone.
