Prison for Miscarriages?

Mike Pence's and the GOP's war on women took a sinister turn this week when Planned Parenthood was forced to abandon Title X funding; they can no longer get payment for serving low income women for cancer screenings and STD treatments.
Just south of us, El Salvador has accomplished what Mike Pence has been working toward his entire life: a complete ban on abortions. And this week a woman there who was arrested and put in prison for almost 3 years because she had a miscarriage that the police decided might have been an abortion has had a new trial and been released from prison.
Get ready, American women. Pence already pushed legislation in Indiana that required women who have miscarriages or abortions to notify police and provide funerals for the remains, while the New York Times reports that numerous women across America have already been imprisoned for having miscarriages. Thirty eight states now have laws that treat miscarriages as potential crime scenes because of "fetal homicide" laws that have led to the imprisonment of American women who had miscarriages as the result of accidents or suicide attempts.
The Republican war on women is picking up steam...
