You have a strong youthful candidate in Pete B. But he's a very unusual youngster. I do think he would be wasted as president in this next presidency. It's mostly going to be about fixing the damage, for all the talk of grand projects. He's interesting because he is pragmatic and thoughtful.

But many younger people are idealistic because they lack the benefit of experience and perspective.

God forbid that anyone let loose my clear-eyed, younger self on the world, when I knew so very well what was right and I ignored anything that was inconvenient to my beliefs.

Nowadays, nearly all of the things that I find instructive politically emerges from the ambivalence produced by competing ideas.

I am often a fan of Nancy Pelosi for US domestic purposes, so I cannot always set aside the wisdom of age. But there are some ancient folks I would happily see retire!

If perchance you are folding in a criticism of Warren on an age basis, I don't agree.
