Oh yes. I understand.

Trying to avoid the simplified labels, when there's a valuable middle ground that would probably meet the needs of many on either side.

Protectionism, as we discussed before Trump employed tariffs, has well-known consequences. Many of them are bad. It's usually an unwise policy. This didn't need to be relearnt. But apparently it had to be all the same.

But this president knows nothing about anything. So, of course...

I think most Americans, at this time, are comparing 'free trade' vs Trump's 'tariffs'.
