Friend of Dayton shooter charged with buying body armor, gun accessories used in deadly attack
Federal prosecutors filed charges against a longtime friend of Dayton shooter Connor Betts for allegedly buying the body armor, 100-round magazine and a firearm accessory used in the deadly attack that killed nine people, officials said Monday.
However, federal authorities emphasized that Ethan Kollie, 24, a resident of Kettering, Ohio, played no role in the planning of the mass shooting in the early morning of Aug. 4.
