Her Al Queda comments were wrong. She doesn’t understand perhaps the effect the 9/11 attack had on our psyche.
I would be in NYC twice or three times a week to hang out late into the night till the attack, after I had moved out of the city. It took me a year to go back to the city after the attack. It was as if the city was destroyed and did not exist for me. I have since driven by the memorial but never walked it, still in shock, until this week where I happened to stay a couple of nights downtown. I never thought it would be such an emotional experience as if it had been bottled up all these years. For flyover country residents, it is a must do trip to the hallowed ground of World Trade Center buildings 1 and 2. It is an unforgettable experience, and they have done an amazing job there.
So, to make a long story short, I believe she needs to have more sensitivity about how Americans feel about her comments, despite the fact some them are VALID, and part of what would be a policy debate, as about Israel, but when it comes to Al Queda it is not even a joke. This is one comment she SHOULD apologize for.
OTOH, if anything happens to her as a result of all this, there is one and only one responsible for it: Donald Trump.
Oh, and Rand Paul is A REAL ASSHOLE!
