For Trump, it's all about the commercial transaction and not military strategy.

Which side is Turkey on? Russia's or NATO's?

I am not sure. Their access to weapons systems fairly and squarely depends upon which side they choose to be.

Trump usually sides with dictators. That isn't the way the US has always rolled. It's certainly not the way the other members of NATO would support. So if he makes sales to Turkey, perhaps NATO is toast.
