Realist - Everybody in America is soft, and hates conflict. The cure for this, both in politics and social life, is the same -- hardihood. Give them raw truth.

Re: "Look at what your buddy, the crazy motnerfkr, to his credit, does for a lviing in a single wide, hard jobs, always working whichever way he can make a dollar."

In case you haven't noticed, he ISN'T always working, and when he is, it's because he wants to. That's what you do when you're retired, numbnuts.

Re: "You wanna live like that, especially at that age?"

I guess you didn't know that I'm retired too - and I no longer have much of an income. If I can find someone who wants to pay me to do an occasional odd job for cash on the side, I'll probably take them up on it - which is what Nemo's doing, 'cept he's better at it than I am. It's a tough life we live, but someone's gotta do it.

When are you going to retire from . . . from whatever it is that you do? Or are you like clo, living off family?

BTW, when I was young, I worked several times for minimum (and even for less than minimum.) Each job resulted in my either leaving (since they were summer jobs), or in promotions so that I wasn't earning minimum for long. At all times, I was paid appropriately for what I was doing - where "appropriately" means that both my employer and I agreed that what I was doing was worth what I was being paid. Unlike you, I don't believe in thievery, and that's what mandated high pay is.

A couple of questions for you:

1) Since you want to force employers to pay their staff more than they are worth, why stop at fifteen dollars? Why not twenty-five dollars - which would put everyone at what today's average household makes?

2) What's your reaction to employers who tell their staff, "I love you guys, but most of you aren't worth fifteen dollars an hour to me. Therefore, I'm going to consolidate operations and keep only a few of you." Is that okay, or do you also want to mandate that employers can't terminate staff??
