Spent last night in Winchester VA, nice little town, an overnight stop on the way to Greenville SC and Charlotte where I got ......friends.
Well, I can say that I had an amazingly good Cajun/Creole dinner there, many times better than anything I had n New Orleans last November. That was the best gumbo ever since 7 and 10 years ago in Destin FL and Lafayette LA. It was awesome. They aldo had a band playing, a singer, a woman who played drums too, and guitar player, and they played Nirvana and talked about Cobain. She had a great voice. What a find that place. Sweet Nola’s.
Today in Asheville NC. A great, lively place, not a dumbed down southern town.....I could live here, in summer only. Riding down 81 along side the Blue Ridge mountains is a visual experience. Greenville is kinda decent, but a small area, and its outskirts look like ....the south.
Will bike ride the foothills of the Blue Ridge Monday, Tuesday, then on to Charlotte, another possible NY replacement destination.
We’ll seeeeeeeeee. I have been in so many places, it’s not even funny.........
