Zim : I can think of no 'system of government' better than ours.
I mean, Capitalism has its flaws, but our Constitution allows
for legislative actions to protect folks from the worst crimes of
Capitalism. (If Capitalism is so bad, then why did the Chinese
embrace it - that is why China is currently an economic powerhouse.

Decomposed > Consider: What group with the political savvy, competence and good intentions of our founding fathers could be assigned to write it?

Zim : And that is why a new 'Constitutional Convention' frightens
me. I hate to even contemplate what sort of 'Constitution'
the clintons, obamas, pelosis, etc. etc. etc. might
come up with . . . And given the current crop of
idiots in this country . . . I greatly fear that any
'New Constitution' would read more like a socialist
manifesto.

Re: "Don’t expect the Constitution to solve every issue."

The Constitution states that issues not specifically described are to be resolved at the state level or via amendment (which is also done largely at the state level). I therefore challenge you to come up with an issue that the Constitution doesn't address.

Re: "It is an imperfect document as I have been finding out time and again as it is now being tested hard."

That's a laugh. There's no such thing as a perfect document. What country do you think has a better Constitution?

If the Constitution were ever to be replaced, I'd lay you odds that the new document would be a significant step in the wrong direction. Consider: What group with the political savvy, competence and good intentions of our founding fathers could be assigned to write it?

BTW, I thought you were moving. You'd best get on with it or Colorado will revoke its invitation.
