Although Harris won the exchange ....

to be fair to Biden, he has a political record that wasn't encapsulated by Harris' comment. He's a fundamentally decent man. He just sometimes says things that are a slightly inept.

The answer about what to do with unhealthy refugees has really asserted the divide between the Democrats and Trump.

He thinks the refugees are spending his money.

They think you put safety for the vulnerable first.

I accept that resources are not limitless. Nevertheless, one wonders what the point of wealth is if it isn't that one of the things it permits is to do good things for other people.

Obviously, the US border isn't open for everyone, so even the Dems aren't offering healthcare hospitality to the world's population. But for refugees fleeing terrible circumstances, it seems like one should have at least one, single, bloody ounce of compassion, even if you can only reach it via reasoning rather than emotion. And even for illegal immigrants, although I guess the argument is closer-run.
