Re: "If we cannot sit down and discuss and resolve issues, instead party politics and idealism taking over, we’ll only go down further."

The blame for that is on your side, buddy-boy. It is, after all, YOUR mistress who bans everyone she disagrees with. Conservatives don't behave so childishly. They know that nobody knows it all, and those who think that they do are most likely wrong about *everything*.

Re: "...so the environment that fueled America’s progress after WWII, free and/or cheap college is non existent."

That isn't what fueled America's progress after WWII, and nothing worthwhile is ever free. At the top of the list was a government that motivated small businesses to be formed and to grow by NOT taxing and regulating them to death.

Next, there was a generation of depression survivors and veterans who knew how bad things could become and how fortunate they were, and who therefore vowed to make something of themselves.

Third, was a Constitution that established identical rules for everyone.

Fourth was a common set of core values that caused the overwhelming majority of citizens to respect one another and work well together.

Fifth was journalistic integrity... and, shall I continue?

Re: "We need a NATIONAL push for affordable college education at the state level, so long as one maintains good grades and graduates."

I assume your post is a response is to the article I posted this morning. But did you actually read the article? I don't think you did. The author's real problem - which it's clear neither he nor you understand - ISN'T that he is saddled with debt up to his eyeballs. Yes, he has debt. But he also had good grades since he went on to get a Master's degree( so your proposal wouldn't have helped the problem at all). The real problem is that this bozo spent 6 years in college, got good grades, earned two degrees, accrued $235,000 in debt, AND THE EDUCATION DIDN'T GIVE HIM A MARKETABLE SKILL. That's the problem. He says so right here:

I can’t do that because I make just under $4,000 per month."
- Simon Galperin

So at age 29, this guy earns less than $48,000 per year. Do you know what the average American with a mere bachelor's degree earns? $59,124 per year. How about the average engineer? $86,768 per year.

Most of these "average" people only have bachelor's degrees.

The real problem is people like the fruity little Mr. Galperin who *do* get an education and emerge from the experience with less than nothing. That needs to stop and soon. People shouldn't be going to college unless they have the money or are pursuing a very lucrative career. Mr. Galperin had no business going to college in the first place. He had no plan and he had no sense. That's a dangerous combination.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months
