...back in the days of GW Bush there was an atrocious crime down in Texas. Couple of rednecks in a truck tied a black guy and drug him behind the truck until he was dead. Further on in time a news guy was demanding to know why it wasn't a hate crime.

GW says, "We caught em, we tried em, we convicted em and we are going to execute em. What more would you have us do?"

...that covers my feelings on hate crime laws as much as anything ever has.

...but, being a blabbermouth, I will add that hate crime laws violate the principle of "equal protection under the law". Why should it be a greater crime for those rednecks to kill the black guy than it would have been if they had killed someone else. That right there is what gave rise to the "Black Lives Matter" agenda.

Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!

Re: "He Murdered 3 Muslim College Students, But No One Wanted To Call It A Hate Crime"

In North Carolina, Hate Crime statutes only apply to misdemeanors. That may [or may not] be stupid, but it's how it is. Charging Craig Hicks with a hate crime would have only DIMINISHED the seriousness of what he did. If you have a problem with that, object to the North Carolina laws, don't pretend that there was some sort of discrimination inherent to the handling of this case. The decision not to treat these murders as Hate Crimes had NOTHING to do with "a Christian killing 3 Muslims." It only had to do with the offenses being felonies and therefore not Hate Crimes.

The premises in this headline and in the subject line of your post are nonsense. I suggest next time you try reading the article before you comment on it and make yourself appear foolish. What I just explained was covered in the article.

BTW, the guy received three consecutive life sentences. What difference do you think it would have made if the crimes had been called "Hate Crimes"? Only a political one, I suspect, but then that's what your fake concern is really all about, isn't it?
