I agree that domestic concerns have (and should have) primacy for US voters. It's more that this reflects on who he is - it was the act of a weak and thoughtless man. If he will do this sort of thing with foreign leaders, he will do similar kinds of things in the US.
The sort of mistake Harris, Warren and Buttigieg would not have made.
I like Joe. But this made me think he may not be president material.
I think Harris is my new top pick. She just seems smart and wise and tough enough for the fight with Trump. And she looks like she has a humorous twinkle in her eye as well.
I like many of Warren's ideas but I think she has an academic's disdain for business, which is a little bit beyond my notion of harnessing the value of enterprise and regulating the damaging impulses, and that has made me shy away a little bit.
I don't want to waste the mature and experienced version of Buttigieg in his later 40s on this election. I'm probably for him in 2028. He's probably good enough already to be a decent president. I'd support him if he wins. But in 9 years, he might be one of the great ones.
The next president will be undoing the damage done by this one.
