Facebook announced Thursday that it plans to ban a group of far-right media personalities, including Alex Jones and Milo Yiannopoulos, as well as Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, from its social network and Instagram. “We've always banned individuals or organizations that promote or engage in violence and hate, regardless of ideology,” a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement.
Facebook barred Alex Jones and some other fringe right-wing personalities from its services, escalating the enforcement of its content policies.

The company said Mr. Jones, the conspiracy theorist, and other controversial figures were barred from using Facebook and Instagram under Facebook’s policies against “dangerous individuals and organizations.”
