To be fair, the impeachment process is working as it says it should on the tin. It's just a very slow process.
The issue for me is that the DoJ has some internal, non-legally-determined prejudices against indicting a criminal president. That means they seem not to adhere to the basic underpinnings of the law which is that everyone is subject to it. I'd be curious how they justify that policy.
Are they saying the president can take out a pistol and kill the veep and he cannot be jailed for it without an impeachment process? If so, that's ridiculous.
There's surely a level of criminal action at which the AG MUST set aside the DoJ policy. Behaving treacherously in an election is surely one way DoJ might indict a president. He undermined the validity of US democracy. If that ain't a crime, what is?
