Has anyone noticed that the PDF version of the Mueller Report, which was released by the DOJ, is NOT searchable? It appears to be a scanned copy of a printed version of the report. This makes the file much larger than it needs to be as well as impossible to use any sort of search tool. It's been reported that this was done as it was the safest way to make sure that the redactions stay redacted. That's not true of course since there are PDF tools which will make all redacted content totally unreadable, no matter what anyone might try to circumvent the redaction process. However, it does make it very difficult for people to look for specific content or passages, which will only slow researchers and could lead to future problems if people attempt to use OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software and it proves to be less than 100% error free.
