My beloved Nanny, she would have been 120 today.
My grandfather died a month before I was born.
She lived with us until I was 12, and married the first man she had been engaged to. (it's a long story) His wife had died & he ran into her at the hospital where she worked.
She lived to be 99, and my step grandfather died 6 months later, he was 2 years younger. They shared a good life for many years.
I spoke with her almost every Sunday. Toward the end she would say she forgot where she was, I told her to close her eyes & go where ever she wanted to be. She found that comforting. I loved her sooo.
She was the BESTEST!
