Firefighters seem to have done an incredible job.
The rose windows survived.
The towers survived.
Statues around the altar survived.
The walls survived.
Yesterday they said the organ survived.
At the minute, the main damage is to the roof, which was not saveable, and to the central spire which was lovely but wasn't original. Plus they will probably have to redo the stone vault, which is a lot of work. Maybe they can take pressure off the flying buttresses my making the vault from fibreglass [sacrilege!!!].
