Like you, I found the accusations about Al Franken ridiculous.
My reason for turning against Gillibrand. IMO, she used him & the Clintons' in hopes of gaining in her career.
And Garrison's thing seemed weak too.
Part of the problem, for many years, many many real victims of sexual assault stayed silent, for many reasons.
Look at the church as a prime example, the molesters used their power & standing in the community to hold their victims emotionally hostage, too.
Most of the time, phonies are found out. That's not to say the falsely accused don't suffer for a crime they did not commit.
I believe these are far fewer than the real victims that stay silent.
