There's another potential issue with respect to Ireland.
Northern Ireland is part of the UK while the Republic of Ireland is a member of the EU. If the UK leaves the EU, they would have to set-up customs and immigration checkpoints on the Irish border, which would make life there a mess. Tensions there are always a problem and this could make it much worse.
