The National Guard is the so called “organized militia” of the 2nd Amendment.

When the army gets involved in internal “enforcement” situations, it is called a take over of the government by the military, ery close to military rule and how dictatorships govern abroad, see Venezuela for a clue. It doesn’t matter if it is right or left, it is a TAKEOVER of civilian, democratic rule. Dictators are always “patriots” protecting the country from those tney don’t like, “enemies of the people”.

Americans have never experienced that, otner than on their TV screens, happenings in other countries, and are totally ignorant and naive about it, although they hang their silly hopes on to the 2nd Amendment as a solution to “takeovers”, which is plain bullshit. Instead of being aware and alarmed of the slippery slope, some are INVITING IT.

By putting active duty federal troops on the border, we're getting close to violating the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, which makes it illegal for federal troops to participate in law enforcement activities inside the borders of the United States. This is why, whenever there has been a need to use 'troops' to augment law enforcement, that this has fallen to the National Guard, which are technically under the control of state governors and while there have been times when these national guard troops have been 'federalized', they are still technically NOT active duty federal troops.
