A con artist picked the wrong target - a former FBI and CIA director
Keniel Thomas was sentenced to nearly five years in prison last week after pleading guilty to extortion. His target? William Webster, 94, the former director of the FBI and CIA.Thomas, 29, called Webster in 2014 and told him he had won $15.5 million in the lottery and a Mercedes Benz but needed to pay $50,000 in taxes to collect, according to court documents. Webster called the FBI instead.
"This was pretty obvious to me that there was something fishy about it," Webster said.
