...get yourself some sub-sonic 22 ammo. Just in case ya need to dispatch a two legged varmit and not attract any unwanted attention.

Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!

Re: "Saw LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of Guns and Knives."
Virginia is wonderful in that you can buy second-hand weapons directly from other Virginians without having to go through background checks. A seller is required to check your ID and cannot sell to you if he believes you are not allowed to have a firearm. Sales to out-of-staters are now allowed. What's nice about that is that you can be confident that your purchase is not going onto anyone's list. If "they" ever come for your guns, this might matter.

I recommend that every citizen own at least one handgun, one hunting rifle, one shotgun and one .22 rifle. And 1,000 rounds minimum for each. Since .22 LR is inexpensive, pick up far more of it. I recently bought 500 round bricks of Remington 22 Thunderbolt at Wal-mart for... I think it was $14.99 each. Thats 3¢ per round - a real bargain, especially since .22 is remarkably useful for hunting varmints and small game.

Back when I owned guns, we used to find used ones on Craig's List and in Facebook private groups. Neither permits gun ads anymore, though they sometimes sneak in anyway. Also, there are newspapers specializing in used merchandise for sale that DO allow gun ads. I don't remember their names, but I used to pick them up at rural convenience stores (Sheetz, Wa-wa and the like.)
