Yesterday, Saturday, here in SoCal we had a rain storm that dropped 1.2 inches of rain in 24 hours. Now I know that this may not sound like a lot to some people but when you consider that for the 2017/2018 weather season (October to October) we had less that 2 inches of rain in 12 months, so 1.2 inches in one day is a big deal. So far this season (since October 1st) we've had better than 12 inches of rain. The historical annual average is only about 14 inches so it's a very good chance that we will have a higher than average rainfall this year, as they are predicting rain for the next two days as well as more rain later in the week. If nothing else, we've been saving money by not having to water our lawn as much as usual (the sprinklers have been off for better then a week now and it looks like they'll stay off for at least another week).
Anyway, we're not complaining as we've been praying for rain after the poor totals from last year. And it appears to be snowing heavily up north, which is even more important since the snow that falls in the Sierras this year will supply the water that we drink next year.
