Poll: Americans Overwhelmingly Against Trump Foreign Policy
A huge majority of Americans disapprove of the way Donald Trump is handling foreign policy, with a new poll showing that nearly two thirds of voters don't back the president. The poll—carried out by the Associated Press and NORC Center for Public Affairs Research—shows 63 percent of Americans disapprove of Trump's foreign policy, while 35 percent approve. However, Americans are split on Trump's most major foreign policy announcement in recent months—39 percent approve of pulling 2,000 American troops from Syria, while 35 percent say they disapprove. There's also a big difference between Republicans and Democrats. Seventy-six percent of Republicans approve of Trump's foreign policy, but just 8 percent of Democrats agree. Likewise, 44 percent of Republicans say the nation’s standing in the world will improve over the next year, while 77 percent of Democrats think the country’s global standing will get worse.
