Buzzfeed stands behind its story.
Reconciling these two positions, it sounds like Buzzfeed is close but not exactly on point in its wording insofar as it involves the Special Counsel.
The Special Counsel needed to clarify that the parts of the story seeming to emerge from his investigation in fact did not. That is, because the Special Counsel seems to think he has a duty to keep his work secret until he decides to publish it.
I don't think the Special Counsel made comments about the accuracy of other parts of the story.
But this leaves the entire story in limbo. It has to be discounted until each of its facts are confirmed or found inaccurate. I am sure Schiff's committee will pursue the truth.
