It is traditionalist.
The UK is an entity with a long, relatively stable and independent history. It is perfectly reasonable to wish to continue with it.
The EU is a bureaucracy marked by arrogance and condescension and run in the interests of France and Germany. Its original sin is the same one the Frankish peoples have visited on the continent over and over: a desire to make a European empire. All the worst people have wanted that for more than a thousand years. All it does is cause misery.
I find it strange that its supporters characterise it as if it is some wonderful paradise, full of people of goodwill with a vision of peace.
